Where you can postmark your taxes by midnight!

If you are the one of many East Texans looking to drop off your taxes, we have found a location that will postmark your forms by midnight! The American Postal Workers Union in Smith County says the postal processing facility located in Owentown will have a spot for you to drop off your taxes. The processing facility is located right off Interstate 20 in Smith County, just east of the Highway 155 exit on FM 3311. The box will not be manned, but the union says they will be checking the box all night to postmark packages.   For a map of where the facility is located, click here: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=12621-12669+Farm+to+Market+3311+Tyler,+TX+75708&hl=en&sll=32.4

New Testing Raises Business Concerns

New Testing Raises Business Concerns

Released by Texas Association of Business:

The apparent unwillingness of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to take a firm stand on setting uniform standards for new end of course exams should be troubling to the Texas business community.

“I’m concerned that the state is setting up the process to be a failure,” said Bill Hammond, President and CEO of the Texas Association of Business. “Putting a test out there with no uniform grading standard and with no uniform standard on how that test should be counted towards a final grade is just asking for the system to fail.”
